Right to Health Activism Network
Article 25 brings grassroots organizing to people most affected by global health inequity—women, people of color, people in poverty—to build a people’s movement for the right to health.
But a people’s movement is only strong as its connection between people. Marginalized populations, particularly people with disabilities, LGBTQI, indigenous and native peoples, refugees and internally displaced persons, and women, are too often left out of ‘global health’ spaces to learn and share best practices and participate in the right to health movement.
Through the Right to Health Activism Network (RTH-AN), we aim to 1) bring in activists working at the margins of this movement, and 2) build a collaborative database of advocacy metrics across the movement. By analyzing and understanding what makes right to health campaigns effective at shifting power - from increasing petition signatures, participants, and media coverage to influencing policy makers and grassroots fundraising - we can build power over of the long-term as a people’s movement for the right to health.
By joining the RTH-AN, your organization will have access to the following:
Monthly email updates on advocacy campaigns across the movement. All network members can submit campaigns to include in the update.
Access to lessons and insights from the Article 25 Campaigns Lab database that analyzes advocacy metrics to produce data-driven RTH campaigns.
Informal support from the Article 25 Campaigns Lab on topics including campaign strategy, communications, and digital tools (as requested).
The core pillars of the network are:
A Culture of Rights and Dignity: Respecting difference and recognizing inherent rights and dignity of all persons, including the freedom to make one's own choices and preserve one’s identity.
A Practice of Learning and Change: Embracing an open and inclusive approach to the work we are doing to advance the right to health.
A Community of Partnerships and Solidarity: Supporting each other’s campaigns and building meaningful partnerships as part of a strategy to increase capacity and advance the movement.
